My family and friends know that Kevin Durant (KD) is currently my favourite basketball player, he’s been my best since Shaquille O’neal retired. If Durant retired today though he wouldn’t usurp Shaq even if he ended up with 10 Championship rings. Just to put it out there, O’neal will remain my all-time favourite of the sport.
Now to the issue I have with KD. The world is still basking in the euphoria of the Verzuz battle between The LOX and Dipset. I saw the Verzuz all over again yesterday just to be sure I wasn’t biased with my assertion that The LOX murdered Dipset. There was no case, Dipset was no match for the Yonkers bred LOX.
I decided to catch the Breakfast Club program on YouTube. It was the episode after the battle where the hosts; DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlemagne tha god interviewed The LOX. Apparently, before the battle, my favourite basketballer said he believed Dipset would win. Maybe because they got him an iced out chain. Dipset no doubt had popular anthems in their arsenal but we are talking real RAP bars and The LOX had that.
The LOX also killed it with freestyles hardly doing singles off their album and when it came to doing the songs for the ladies they quadrupled whatever Dipset brought on. Now imagine if Ma$e and P.Diddy had teamed up with The LOX.
Maybe Ma$e would have repped Dipset though because they are from Harlem and he is also from Harlem. Harlem World rings a BELL yeah? Anyway, Ma$e would probably have stuck with The LOX because they were label mates (Bad Boy Entertainment).
I am sure KD would be regretting pitching his tent with Dipset. Shaq wouldn’t have been on Dipset’s side, he knows rap and he even had 4 Studio rap albums.
