Soji Omoyeni aka SOJ aka Chizzle, my guy from way back. Our friendship started in a weird way. We had a little fight, not physical but some things were said. This was back in Secondary School. The way we moved on from that incident still amazes me. We became friends and he always looked out for me, he always picked me to be on his team whenever it was time for football. Though we supported different teams it was always fun watching football with him. I remember the Euro 2004 tourney, we saw most of the games together. I hated how he made fun of me when Greece beat Portugal in the final but hey, all na banter.

SOJ was a very brilliant chap and his love for reading was out of this world. He would also practically read anything I wrote and encouraged me. He always dropped a comment whenever I posted stuff on Facebook.

The last time I saw him was on the 28th of April, 2013 at my cousin’s place.  Death happened 2 months after, it hit a lot of us hard. As in really hard, he was friends with a lot of people because he was a cool chap and could easily start a conversation, a skill that comes easily to him and one of the things I admired about him. He also had a great sense of humour and despite the Ago Crisis of 2005 he was still able to pull off jokes to help most of us with him not panic. GREAT GUY!!!

One of the things that endeared me most to SOJ was he always checked up on me despite the distance and he never held it against me because he did the checking up most of the time. Another thing was the way he always asked of my brothers even though he never met them, he earned my respect for life.

It has been 8 years since your demise bro and I miss you a great deal.

CHEERS!!!
