The Old Lady

For the first time in my life I saw the Champions League without my best team (Manchester United) in participation. Can you imagine that? Yea the haters are having a ball, make una enjoy. We would catch up next season, calm down.

The 2014/2015 Champions League season kicked off with me rooting for my 4th and 5th best teams in the world which are Juventus and Real Madrid (like I had a choice). My friends were already taking shots at me because they felt Juventus would drop at best during the second round phase of the competition because they hired Massimiliano Allegri as manager. It’s not that I am playing GOD but I had strong belief in the team and if you read my top 4 predictions before the season started you will understand what I am talking about.

Juventus finished second behind Atletico Madrid in the group phase of the Champions League before brushing aside Dortmund in the second round to make it to the quarter finals where they met Monaco whom had conquered Arsenal too in the second round. Juventus eased past Monaco (always wanted to put that phrase this way) to set up a semi-final match up with Real Madrid (my proposed final). Just before the semi-final draws, I had put up a Hash Tag stating #ZonedOut Juventus for the trophy on my BBM which raised questions from my friends. They were asking why I wanted Juventus for the trophy and I took them down memory lane where in 2003 my love for Juventus started. Juventus had knocked Real Madrid out in the semi-finals of the Champions League and the fashion in which they did it endeared me to the side especially the energy of Pavel Nedved and Edgar Davids. These two players showed the nerve modern football players lack.

I am also happy to point out that Juventus is gunning for a treble with the Italian Serie A already in their grip, they look  to put the Coppa Italia and the Champions League into their trophy cabinet. They would be vying for the Coppa Italia trophy in a final against Lazio on the 20th of May, 2015 before taking on Barcelona in Berlin for the Champions League trophy which would be played on the 6th of June, 2015.
3-2 aggregate win for Juventus over Real Madrid has given them the opportunity to win the Champions league for the third time in their history which would put them level with my beloved Manchester United. Do I care? Hell No, as long as they aren’t playing against the Red Devils. I don’t need to say more about where my allegiance lies all I can say is the OLD LADY WILL SING COME JUNE 6, 2015.

In case you missed it, Italy won the World Cup in 2006 at the Berlin Stadium in Germany and Juventus (an Italian side) would also come out on top in Berlin.

Thanks for your time guys and do enjoy the rest of the week……………………… BLESS !!!
