It’s been 3 years you left this cold world bro but you surely are not forgotten. It is hard to put away the memories shared but one thing is for sure, Heaven gained an angel. The Mobile F.C/United guys are putting in great work to ensure your memory outlives us with the yearly Seun Lewis football tournament. The four team tournament is always played in October, the month of your exit from this cold world at the Legacy Astro Turf pitch at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. Saying we miss you is understating it bro.

This year’s tournament which had MTN Nigeria and Keynes Ventures as sponsors had in participation Football Einstein, Magodo All Stars and both Mobile teams (Mobile FC and Mobile United). First game was between Mobile FC and Football Einstein, in what was an intense game Mobile took the lead just before half time and when it looked like they were running away with a win the young lads of Football Einstein grabbed an equalizer to send the game to penalties. Mobile FC emerged victorious to book a place in the final.
In the other semi-final, Mobile United took on Magodo All Stars and in less than 3 minutes the United guys took the lead from a well deserved penalty. It was looking like it was going to be a riot from then on but you would be amazed that no further goals were scored afterwards. So it was Mobile FC up against Mobile United in the final while Football Einstein and Magodo All Stars slugged it out in the losers final in which the former won 2-1.
Before the final the WAGs (Wives and Girlfriends of footballers) were called upon to show some of their football skills in a penalty shoot out competition. You would be amazed how the men had rubbed off the ladies though it could also be agreed that some of the ladies played better penalties than the men.

The final was eventually won by Mobile FC via penalties after playing out a goalless draw in regulation time.

The highlight of the day for me was when the Mobile FC/United guys dedicated P Diddy’s “I will be missing you” featuring Faith Evans and 112 in your honor. Seun you are surely missed.

In all it was a successful tournament and a great day.
Sure boy. My ever willing and smiling aburo. Always asking about Fifi…..
