RVP, Man Utd and other things……………………
Robin Van Persie is a wonderful striker no doubt. My issue is why do we have to buy a striker when we need players in other areas? The gaffer was overheard saying he wants four world class strikers like he did in 1999. Hmmmmm, doesn’t he realize that Chicago Fire. (Rio Ferdinand) has passed his prime? I tire for this man o. Van Persie might not be a bad buy though (at least he has reduced one of his back four’s nightmares). I am a big admirer of left footed players and Van Persie is one of them. Truth be told, I am always happy whenever he doesn’t get to. play against Man Utd.
I still believe Fergie should have invested in an experienced center back and a tough tackling holding midfielder (in the mold of Nigel De Jong or Lassana Diarra). I understand Evra is losing it(whatever happened to the bid for Baines?) but is Alexannder Buttner the perfect replacement? I hope he isn’t a youtube player just like Bebe.I trust Sir Alex, he knows best I guess.
The loss to Everton was painful but United deserved to lose on all counts. The bulk of the Man Utd players didnt come to the party. The likes of Nani, Evra, Welbeck and the second best player in the world (in my mind, I know) Rooney after Andreas Iniesta (I hate Barca though). However David De Gea was absolutely awesome, springing some off tha chain saves especially the close range shot from Leon Osman (wonder why this guy has never been capped by my beloved Three Lions) and former United target’s (Leighton Baines) freekick. The Everton loss was painful but Man U didn’t even deserve a point.
People need to cut RVP some slack, he played only 25minutes in that game. I heard a joke saying if we wanted the best from Van Persie, we will have to wait 7 years (laughing my head out). We shall see.
Guys, don’t prejudge my beloved team yet, it’s just the first game of the season. Remember Man Utd is the only team in the EPL that can afford to lose its first game and still win the title. We are also the only team that will lose 5 games all season and still win the EPL title. In your best interest don’t write us off yet.
My team of the week is stated below:
1. David De Gea (Man Utd/Spain) – goalkeeper
2. Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea/ Serbia)- right back
3. John Arne Riise (Fulham/Norway)-left back
4. Cheik Tiote (Newcastle/ Ivory Coast)-defensive midfielder
5. Phil Jaglieka (Everton/ England)- center back
6. Steven Taylor (Newcastle/England)- center back
7. Ben Arfa (Newcastle/France)-right winger
8.Maroune Felliani (Everton/Belgium)- support striker
9.Mladen Petric (Fulham/Croatia)-top striker
10. Eden Hazard (Chelsea/Belgium)- playmaker
11. Nathan Dyer (Swansea/ England)-left winger
This is a 4-4-2 formation and I will gladly make Michael Laudrup manager of this side.
I am sure you would be wondering what Cheik Tiote and Stephen Taylor are doing on this team list? Well they impressed me. No City player? Not my fault, no where to put them. I apologise for not adding Michu to this team too. Please feel free to criticise this team. Mean while watch out for my boys against Fulham this weekend.
