Transfer Window Closes, Repayment Continues, Barren Run ends etc……………………

Thank GOD, the transfer window has been shut down for another four months. Too much drama. Not quite happy with the transfer activities of my team though. I was expecting the Gaffer to invest in an experienced center back and a holding midfielder. Let’s see how the season pans out. We could get lucky you know. I really envy Roberto Di Matteo and Roberto Mancini. Both managers (of Chelsea and Man Shitty) made relatively good buys, most especially Di Matteo. Still not sure Chelsea will win the league, but they can win the Chelsea cup (FA Cup, lol). I think they should name the cup after Ashley Cole; he has won that trophy more than any other footballer. Spurs did a bit of good business too, signing Moussa Dembele (I still think Fergie should have signed this dude), Clint Dempsey and Hugo Lloris on deadline day. Westham took Andy Carrol on loan from Liverpool (He had a fantastic debut for the Hammers btw); QPR signed Real Madrid’s Esteban Granero amongst other transfer activities.
Yes repayment truly continues. 1, 2, 3 goals for Van Persie. The hatrick took his EPL goals tally to 100 (for both Arsenal and Man United).  He is also joint leading scorer with Michu of Swansea, both have 4 goals. What a way to celebrate the Manager’s 1000th league game. This United side played poorly against Southampton. Defensively we were terrible. Anyway what really mattered to me was the 3 points. We need to keep in touch with our rivals. I am sure with time; the lads will be back to their best. Credit must be given to the Saints (Southampton). They played really well and they should have gotten at least a point from the game. Their ball play is fantastic but they didn’t take their chances which was evident against Man City and Wigan. I am sure they will get into their stride as time goes on. My man of the match was that James Puncheon dude but Morgan Schnerderlin, Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana would also be mentioned for their contributions. Chai that Lambert dude bullied Vidic and Rio. I am sure the Saints will stay in the EPL come May 2013. They have really exciting players.
I can see the Gooners have found their scoring boots. Lukas Podolski and Santi Carzola took their goals well. Victory over Liverpool ensured Arsenal ended their barren run after playing goalless draws against Sunderland and Stoke City respectively, it also means they have not conceded a goal in those games, which is rather strange(those gooners sabi chop goal). However, new boy Olivier Giroud missed a sitter (AGAIN!!!) denying him his first goal for the club. The Gunners beat Liverpool 2-0, despite Liverpool being the dominant side. It seems to me Westbrom hate the Scousers. They have beaten both Mersey side teams (Liverpool and Everton) 3-0 and 2-0 respectively already this season. Steve Clark must be doing a good job. Swansea dropped 2 points at home to Sunderland (2-2); Westham battered Fulham 3-0. I said battered because, I didn’t expect that score line. Man City beat QPR 3-2; Spurs have still not won a game this season. Their game with Norwich ended in a 1-1 draw. Newcastle also played out a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa. Alas, Villa now have a point. Wigan and Stoke shared the spoils at the DW stadium. A weekend packed with draws.
Judging from the above results, I just got one of my predictions perfectly right, though I came close with the Man City versus QPR game and maybe the Southampton and United game.
Chelsea? Hmmmmm they were bruised battered and brushed. 4-1? Unbelievable, Radomel Falcao is a murderer. I am sure if  it was possible; Abrahamovic would have put in a bid for this guy(though I heard there is already a bid in motion). A striker extraordinaire. This dude is the best striker in Europe right now. Smoking hot jor. I was so glad Chelsea got beaten jare.  They have been brought back to life. European Champions ko, European champions ni. Abeg nah Athletico Madrid be champions of Europe.
Arsenal and A.C Milan really impressed me but the big winners of the weekend for me are Juventus. They beat Udinese 4-1 at home. Though Bayern also beat Stutgart 6-1. Juventus is my choice jare. The fall hand team of the weekend goes to Stutgart. How can you concede 6 goals? Yes City thrashed my boys 6-1 at the Theatre of dreams. So? Na this one fresh pass, hahahahahahahaha.
My player of the weekend is jointly shared by Robin Van Persie and Giampalo Pazzini. Worst player of the weekend is Steven Gerrard.
No predictions this time out because of the world cup qualifiers. There would a short break from club matches. Endeavour to watch the third best team in the world, the three Lions (England) take on Moldova and Ukraine. I don’t know if the Super Eagles are playing o, and I don’t care.
My EPL team of the week is as follows:

  1. Jussi Jaskelainen (Finland/Westham) – Goalkeeper
  2. Carl Jenkinson    (England/Arsenal) –  Right Fullback
  3. Patrice Evra         (France/Man Utd) – Left Fullback
  4. Yaya Toure        (Ivory Coast/Man Shitty) –  Holding midfielder
  5. Ciaran Clark      (England/ Aston Villa) – Center back
  6. Per Mertesacker (Germany/ Arsenal) –  Center back
  7. Robert Snodgrass (Scotland/Norwich) – Right winger
  8. Steven Fletcher    (Scotland/Sunderland)- Support Striker
  9. Robin Van Persie (Netherland/ Man Utd) –  Striker
  10. Moussa Dembele  (Belgium/ Spurs) – Attacking midfielder
  11. Santi Carzola        (Spain/Arsenal) –  Left winger

This a 4-4-2 formation and I will hand Chris Hughton the manager’s role.
Congrats to RVP for making team of the week a second time in a row. Arsenal fans I hope you see that despite the hatred I have for your team, I was still objective enough to put three of your players in my team of the week.
Glory Glory Man Utd, as the REDS go marching on.
Enjoy the rest of the week……………………………………………………. Bless
