Where did the year go? 2017 has to be the fastest year ever just ahead of 2011. Don’t mind me, its just that I wished 2011 didnt end for reasons best known to me. 2017 however was a thrilling year if you ask me and though musically (In Nigeria) it picked up kind of late but we weren’t disappointed. The quality and quantity however balanced out as the days rolled by. It was even hard for me to pick 17 fantastic songs and yes as always a lot of people never seem to agree with my choice of songs.
I dont know how many albums were released this year but 2 stood out for me and they are Falz the bahd guy’s 27 album and Olamide’s Lagos Na Wa. Davido also gave us massive singles this year and Wizkid dropped his Songs from the other side album. Notable mention to Niniola and Simi who dropped albums this year too but I cannot have an opinion as I didn’t get to listen to them. Heard Tiwa Savage’s Sugar EP too was good.
There were also shake what your mama gave you kind of singles that killed the airwaves this year.

This has to be toughest list ever, phew. Olamide is back at number 1 after a year’s absence. People can argue that Small Doctor’s Penalty was 2016, yes I know it was released in December but it rocked 2017. I mean it is a party starter anyday. As usual my list is always rubbish, that’s why it is mine. Lol.
I will soon start hearing why isn’t Simi’s Owanbe on the list or the Mr. P or Rude Boy’s songs. There are songs I wish I could add like Phyno’s Augment (featuring Olamide), Joromi (Simi), Single and Searching (Yemi Alade featuring Falz), Like Dat (Davido), Easy Jeje (Reekado Banks) just to mention a few.
