Hi all. So sorry about not putting up a post in over a week. The joy of being an uncle again coupled with the first phase (engagement) of handing my lovely sis over to her hubby got the best of me. It was a busy weekend and at the end it was worth it. Glory be to baba GOD.
I didn’t get to see the entirety of a single match this weekend (which is so strange). Even my mum knew my Saturday isn’t for anything else other than footie. She wouldn’t even send me to get her a glass of water (LOL). Big ups to the Gunners, firing on all cylinders. Make una dey score 6 against Southampton se e gbo. GOD be with you on Sunday (hahahahahaha, thats me joking o). Saw the Anton Ferdinand, John Terry and Ashley Cole saga. I could only shake my head, in my opinion this thing is getting to far.
Did you guys watch the best team in the world play on Saturday? I am sure you know I am about Manchester United. Barca ko, Eagle ni. Shior. Goals for debutants Alex Buttner and Nick Powell. I hope they wont be thinking their goals coupled with their performance on the day will guarantee them first team starts sha o. They were opportuned to play because we were playing against Wigan (if them beat us last season nko? Na still Wigan dem be jor) and we have a Champions league game midweek against Galatasaray. According to the Gaffer, our UCL reputation needs to be rebuilt.
I really don’t have much to write and it wouldn’t be fair to pick an EPL team of the week because I didnt watch the games. However, my fall hand team of the week was Real Madrid. Of all the 5 teams I love watching, na only dem lose jare. Though Newcastle didnt deserve yesterday’s draw with Everton, but I must say Demba Ba stepped up when he needed to, and his two goals were key for the Magpies. With the little I saw of the Newcastle game, I must doff my hat for Steven Piennar for taking one for the team. He acosted the ref for disallowing Anichebe’s goal. His action prevented a swift Newcastle counter attack and in my view a sure goal. He was also booked for that.
All hail the legandry Paul Scholes. He scored a goal on his 700th appearance for Man Utd. Wait 700 games? Boredom no dey worry you ni? Driving to the same office almost everyday for over 18years. Choi.
Here are my predictions for Champions league games taking place this week:
Real Madrid 3 Vs Man City 2
A.C Milan 2 Vs Anderlecht 0
Dortmund 2 Vs Ajax 1
Dinamo Zagreb 1 VS Porto 2
Malaga 2 Vs Zenit St. Petersburg 1
Montepellier 1 Vs Arsenal 3
Olympiakos 0 Vs Schalke 2
PSG 3 Vs Dynamo Kiev 1
Barcelona 4 Vs Spartak Moscow 0
Bayern Munich 3 Vs Valencia 1
Braga 3 Vs Cluj 0
Celtic 1 Vs Benfica 2
Chelsea 1 Vs Juventus 2
Lille 3 Vs Bate 0
