Wonderful weekend in footballing terms but before the games started I was so bored and there was no owambe or let me rephrase I wasn’t invited to any owambe. Friday night was fun though and if you don’t know how to eat catfish pepper soup you are seriously missing. I said you are missing because its the same thing people tell me when I say I don’t take pounded yam. It’s like I am the only person who doesn’t eat it. Still on the news not relating to football, a female friend asked me what it meant if your boyfriend doesn’t call you for two hours. I had to laugh for a long time, what sort of question is that? He hasn’t gone a whole day without calling and you already complaining. I told her maybe he was watching Django Unchained or Lord of the rings since they were long movies. Abi I no try? She just started dating after a long while so she probably lost touch of the dating game.
Back to footie talk, Manchester United extended their lead to 15 points ahead of City rivals who face relegation threatened Aston Villa on Monday night. United thrashed Norwich City 4 nil. Sir Alex Ferguson put out a strong side despite having to face Real Madrid in the 2nd leg the of their Champions league tie on Tuesday night. Glad Van Persie is back and he started upfront with Wayne Rooney. It was looking like one of those days the Red Devils will play well and not score until extra time of the first half where Shinji Kagawa gave United the lead. Man Utd scored the other goals late on in the game with Kagawa bagging a hatrick which makes him the first Asian to do so in the EPL. Rooney added the 4th for United with a beauty of a goal. Chelsea beat Westbrom 1-0 hoping Assnal would at least pull off a draw against Spurs, boy were they wrong. Tottenham continued with their rich vein of beating the Gunners 2-1 to return to third position on the log and 7 points ahead of their North London rivals. All relegation sides lost except bottom club QPR that were able to beat Southampton 2-1 at Saint Mary’s to keep them in touch with their fellow strugglers.
Big ups to Luis Suarez, he is top scorer of the EPL with 21 goals after scoring a hatrick against Wigan and none of the 21 goals were scored from the penalty spot. Liverpool are 7th on the table and also in line for a Europa league slot. Tottenham have a difficult run in to the end of the season and I am so sure Chelsea will nick 3rd place but can Arsenal take advantage of any Spurs slip up? Only time will tell. United remains the napkin that has refused to leave the top of the table.
El-classico (Real Madrid versus Barcelona) had an unusual kick off. It was played in the afternoon on Saturday because of Real Madrid’s Champions league tie with Man Utd on Tuesday at Old Trafford. Mourinho rested his Super star player and the best player in the world over the last 7 days (Cristiano Ronaldo). Messi however started for Barcelona. Madrid took the lead through Karim Benzema and Messi equalized for the Catalans. Ronaldo was brought into the game in the 2nd half and shortly after his introduction Lionel Messi disappeared. Ronaldo hit the bar with a free kick but Sergio Ramos handed Real the winner after heading home Luka Modric’s corner kick. The game ended 2-1 and though Madrid is 13 points behind Barcelona, its victory on El-classico day for Madrid that mattered. Jose “the only one” Mourinho will have the bragging rights in what could be his last El-classico fixture.
Glad with the weekend results except the Newcastle game because the lost 1 nil to Swansea and I can only hope Villa shocks Man City. Get well Ponche and sorry your Gunners let you down.
Thanks for your time and do have a fantastic week. Don’t forget to drop comments and share…………………………… BLESS!!!

i think i would stop reading your blog till you learn to be less critical of ARSENAL..what do you mean by ‘Spurs continue their rich vein of beating the Gunners?truth is that the Gunners have won 73 and Spurs 54 of this derby..but you tend to crucify the Gunners all the time..is Man Utd perfect?i don’t hear you talking about Man Utd’s sorry defense.after all,Arsenal have only conceded 1 more goal than they have this season..yet you don’t see anything wrong in that.i don’t remember you giving props to Jordi Gomez for becoming the first Spanish midfielder to score a hat trick, but you are all about Kagawa who has managed just 5 goals this season.need i tell you that all Arsenal’s new signings have found the net more than he has except Nacho who just came in.it is important to be objective here.i would be the first to criticize Arsenal for a whole number of reasons, but i dont think that you have that luxury..i think that till you learn to be less critical,i’m outta here…
