There are some players I have watched play and I am like I wished they played for my beloved Manchester United. No doubt United had some great players, I mean Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, George Best, Sir Bobby Charlton, Paul Scholes, David Beckham, Dennis Law, Edwin Van Der Saar, Peter Schmeichel and Nemanja Vidic to name a few all played for the Red Devils and they gave good account of themselves.
I however admired players from rival clubs in the Premier League and some established super stars in other European Leagues.
10 players I would have been glad to see grace the Theatre of Dreams are:
1. Andreas Iniesta (Spanish & Barcelona Legend)
2. Paolo Maldini (Italian & A.C Milan Legend)
3. Thierry Henry (French & Arsenal Legend)
4. Ronaldo De Lima (Brazilian and Legend for every team he played for except A.C Milan I guess)
5. Dennis Bergkamp (Dutch & Arsenal Legend)
6. Ivan De La Pena (Spanish & not so legendary but had a relatively good spell with Barcelona)
7. Xabi Alonso (Spanish & great spells at Liverpool, Real Madrid and maybe Bayern Munich)
8. Alan Shearer (English & Newcastle Legend)
9. Romario (Brazilian & Barcelona legend)
10. Zinedine Zidane (French, Juventus & Real Madrid Legend)
Honorable mentions; Luis Figo (Portuguese, Real Madrid & Barcelona Legend), Andrea Pirlo (Italian, Juventus & A.C Milan legend), Francesco Totti (Italian & Roma Legend) and Samuel Eto’o (Cameroonian & Barcelona Legend).
