Ja Rule and Fat Joe are about to face off at the next instalment of the Timbaland and Swizz Beatz created Verzuz battle series. It will take place at the so-called Mecca of Rap, New York City with fans having the opportunity to gain entry into the venue by purchasing tickets. Swizz said in a post on Instagram that the Summer ain’t over yet. It’s Swizz, I believe him.
For me, this battle has been won even before it started. Without mincing words, Ja Rule should easily nick this. Yes, Fat Joe may have released more discographies than Ja Rule but when it comes to HITS, Ja Rule trumps him. I am waiting for who thinks otherwise. When it comes to BARS, I think Ja will also edge the Don Cartegena.
I think the battle would be won based on hits even though stage presence or performance could play a major role. I hate to admit that I am #TeamJaRule for this one, not a big fan of his. He has some songs I can blast on repeat though, songs like; Clap Back (diss track directed at 50 Cent and Eminem), New York which had Fat Joe and Jadakiss on it, Thug Lovin featuring Bobby Brown, Its Murda with Jay Z and DMX, Holla Holla and Living it Up to mention a few.
Fat Joe hasn’t done too badly, I love Lean Back with Remy Martin, Lean Back Remix starring Mase and Eminem, then there’s Get the Hell On With That that had Ludacris and Armageddon and What’s Luv featuring Ja Rule and Ashanti.
Again, I am for Ja Rule when the curtains come up and drops come the 14th of September, 2021.
