Euro 2020 kicks off tomorrow Friday, June 11, 2021. The tournament which made its debut in 1960  with France as the first hosts will have its 16th edition spread across 11 cities in Europe this time out. 12 cities were initially billed to host the tournament with Dublin (Ireland) removed due to the inability to admit spectators into their stadium.  Spain (1968, 2008 & 2012) and Germany (1972, 1980 & 1996) have won it 3 times and won the tourney the most with France (1968 & 2000) looking like they want to catch up judging by the army assembled. Portugal are defending champions.

Amsterdam (Netherlands), Baku (Azerbaijan), Bucharest (Romania), Budapest(Hungary), Copenhagen (Denmark), Glasgow (Scotland), London (England), Munich (Germany), Rome (Italy), Saint Petersburg (Russia) and Seville (Spain) are the 11 host cities with the Wembley Stadium in London, England hosting both semifinal and final games.

I am still rooting for England, France and Portugal (in that order) even though I am worried for England. They might make it to the semi-final but could face Italy (I played a prediction game) and lose. Not bothered about Portugal though they could meet England in the quarter-finals. I have tipped France to win the tourney and Italy has been the most in-form team in world football with no loss in about 3 years.

So Ladies, girlfriends, wives, sisters, nieces, sisters in law, mummies, aunties, grandmas and what have you kindly put the remote control where we can see it. The Euros is about to begin.

CHEERS!!!
