The European football season officially climaxed with Chelsea’s Champions League triumph over Manchester City last Saturday. Now the air is filled with transfer dealings, rumours and maybe thrills as we are hearing P.S.G are looking at snapping up Georgino Wijnaldum under Barcelona’s noses.
The great news for me was Aston Villa beating Arsenal to the signature of Argentine playmaker Emi Buendia who was part of the Norwich City team that gained promotion to the Premier League. Is Villa preparing for life after Jack Grealish or will both players be accommodated in the same midfield? If both players gel EPL teams should be afraid, very afraid.
Anyway, while we await the resumption of the 2021/22 European football season, we are 6 days away from the start of Euro 2020. I still maintain one of England, Portugal or France would be winning the tournament.
