Opening EPL Weekend

The premier league is back, yayyyy. Let’s cut to the chase abeg, Man United’s loss is no longer news, except if you were at an owambe (party) and your phone or other fancy gadgets had no network or wi-fi connection since 2.30pm yesterday till this very moment or you simply are a hater of the club, don’t have friends or you are just not a football person. The banters have been thrown at me and what really surprised the peeps that were throwing these banters was that I didn’t look bothered about Man Utd’s 2-1 loss to Swansea.
Why wasn’t I bothered? For one we had 9 players out injured, not that we have a fantastic squad but hey a number of our first team players (Rafael, Valencia, Carrick, Johny Evans) were missing in action. Manchester United didn’t play badly, yes we have been beaten but I still have faith in Louis Van Gaal and I trust that things will improve. It’s clear we need to go shopping and Center Backs are needed urgently for Van Gaal’s proposed 3-5-2 formation to be a success. A central midfielder (correct box to box one) and a pacy winger should also be added to the fold.
The loss was painful no doubt but it’s early days and all I am asking for this season is a top four finish, the FA cup would also be a wonderful add on. Man United didn’t play badly like I said earlier and I must say Ander Herrara is a good player, you guys should watch out for that lad. Ashley Young seems to be thriving in his new role and Phil Jones was Phil Jones.
Fantasy Football
Fantasy football is back and my team has not started well but it’s also early days there too so I can still catch up with the lads in my league. There are 11 teams in my league and I am 9th at the moment. I need to shuffle my squad and bring in quality players if I am to catch up with the boys.
Recap On The Weekend’s Games
Arsenal left it late to clinch a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at the Emirates and guess who came up with the winner? Arsenal’s best player last season. You need me to spell it out? Aaron Ramsey of course. Everton played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Leicester and Aston Villa beat Stoke City at home to end their terrible away game run. Hull City beat Premier league returnees QPR 1-0 and Tottenham Hotspurs beat Westham by a lone goal. Westbrom were held to a 2-2 draw by Sunderland to wrap up Saturday’s games. It was a bad weekend for some of the home sides with Man Utd, QPR, Stoke City and Westham all losing at home.
Sunday presented us with mouthwatering fixtures as Liverpool hosted their feeder team, Southampton. Yea if u sell 3 players to a particular team in the same transfer window for that matter what else would you be regarded as? I rest my case. Man City beat Newcastle 2-0 at the Sports Direct Arena to kick off their title defence.
Highlight of the weekend for me was when a fan came on to the pitch to strike a free kick that was meant for Tottenham in their game against Westham. The fan’s free kick was way better than the one Eriksen struck and much classier than the penalty Noble missed for Westham.

My player of the weekend has to be Aaron Ramsey, that dude is a monster.
Monday’s Game
Chelsea face premiership newcomers Burnley in the first Monday night football of the season. I know Mourinho’s boys will nick that one. Or maybe cos I have 3 of his players in my fantasy league, Hehehehehehe. Remember I am tipping Chelsea to win the league. Let’s see how that plays out.

Thanks for your time guys and do have a fabulous week ahead filled with the blessings of the ALMIGHTY.
