Paris hosts the draw for the Euro 2016 finals on December 12 evening, with less than six months now to go before the start of the first 24-team tournament in the competition's history. The coaches of the competing nations will be in attendance in the French capital to find out who their sides will come up against in the group stage of the European Championship, which kicks off on June 10, and what their route to the final might be. The English Premiership hit a tumultuous climax today. The Champions Leicester wrapped up their League campaign with a 1 all draw at Stamford Bridge against a Chelsea team that won it last season and which also happens to be the team that sacked their manager Claudio Ranieri 12 years ago.

All final 10 games of the season was supposed to kicked off simultaneously and though we had known the relegated teams (Newcastle,Norwich and Aston Villa) and the champions but the fight for 2nd spot between Tottenham and Arsenal and the battle for the final Champions League spot between Manchester City and Manchester United looked all but settled in favour of City. As faith would have it there was a bomb scare at United’s home ground so only 9 of the the 10 games happened. Maybe they shouldn’t even bother playing the game again as Man City clinched the 4th spot to make it to the play off phase of the Champions League after drawing with Welsh side Swansea City. Arsenal however pipped Tottenham Hotspur to 2nd place beating Aston Villa 4-0 and Tottenham losing 5-1 to already relegated Newcastle.

Everton earned a bit of respite beating Norwich City 3-0 after a poor run of form to end the season on a high in front of their home fans. Westbromwich Albion held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns and Watford also played out a draw with Sunderland with the game ending 2-2 at Vicarage Road. Southampton thrashed Crystal Palace 4-1 at Saint Mary’s Stadium and Stoke City was also able to crown the end to their season with a 2-1 win over Westham United.

An interesting season it has been and we await the third team that would join Burnley and Middlesbrough in the Premiership come next season. The European league has ended almost everywhere and we await the season ending club tourney, the UEFA Champions League final which holds on the 28th of May, 2016 in Milan Italy. The Champions League final is between Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid.

The beauty of this year is that the football games never cease as we also look forward to the Euros which is holding in France from June 10 to July 10, 2016. Teams have started naming their provisional squads for the tournament. We also have the Copa America and the Olympics to look forward to. Oh my what a year 2016 is.
Thanks again guys for your time. Stay Blessed !!!
