Day 78 of 365: Dr. Dre let me down

Andre Young aka Dr. Dre is a revered music producer. It can also be said that he is rapper, well when he was still actively into music because his last personal project dropped in 1999 titled Chronic 2001. Very dope body of work I must say with Forgot about Dre (featuring Eminem), Still Dre (featuring Snoop Dogg), F**k You (featuring Snoop Dogg and Devin the Dude), What’s the difference (with Eminem & Xzibit), Xxplosive (with Nate Dogg, Kurupt, Hittman and Six-Two) and The Next Episode (with Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg and Kurupt) being my favourite songs on the album. Too many hits right? That’s what you get when you have many people who owe most of their success to you.

Dr. Dre will hardly ever have to make music again as he’s now a billionaire after himself and his business partner Jimmy Iovine cashed out big time by selling Beats Electronics (familiar with Beats by Dre?) to Apple. The deal was estimated to be $2.6bn in cash and $400m in stocks. So why make music anymore.

The reason Dr. Dre let me down was because he announced he would be dropping a new album he already tagged Detox in 2002, till date that album hasn’t dropped. It was believed that he put most of his energy on ensuring Eminem and 50 Cent dropped monster hits.

In the final analysis, if I was a billionaire I would be running a business called WHY BOTHER!!!

CHEERS!!!
