Arsenal have lost 2 of 2 Premier League games this season. First, it was the 2:0 loss to newcomers Brentford at the Brentford Community Stadium before losing by the same scoreline to fellow Londoners Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium. Romelu Lukaku was amongst the goals for Chelsea. He returned to the club after a 10-year hiatus.
Arsenal’s start to the season has been bad no doubt even though we expected them to beat Brentford, there was no way they were going to beat Chelsea today even if Chelsea had used 9 players. Arsenal haven’t strengthened their team significantly even though they have spent the most in the Premier League so far in this current transfer window with over £126m splurged on Ben White, Martin Odegaard, Nuno Tavares, Albert Lokonga and Aaron Ramsdale.
I think Arsenal has no business posting below a top 4 finish this season or at least not end up empty-handed if we go by their fixtures. They are only involved in domestic football and so the rigours of playing in European competitions or travelling out of England should count for something.
Again we know Arsenal, deputy chief bottlers of Europe. Go figure who the Chief Bottlers are.
