England started their quarter-final against Ukraine this night in explosive fashion, scoring as early as the 4th minute. A wonderful build-up to the goal saw Raheem Sterling assist Harry Kane for his second goal at the Euros so far. It was also the first time England would be scoring in the first half of this tournament. The first half ended 1:0 in England’s favour and I was hoping England won’t blow their chances of making it to the semifinal of the Euros since 1996.
2nd half kicked off even in better fashion for England as the 3 Lions scored 2 goals in quick succession, 4 minutes apart to be precise. First, it was Harry Maguire in the 46th minute, a minute after the restart then Harry Kane in the 50th minute. Substitute Jordan Henderson wrapped up the scoring for England with a 4th and his first ever goal for England in the 63rd minute. 4:0 the game ended.
The 3 Lions of England have now qualified for the semifinals of the Euros and their 2nd semifinal in consecutive tournaments under Gareth Southgate. They are yet to concede a goal in all of their 5 games in this tourney.
The semifinals kick off on Tuesday with Italy up against Spain, while England play Denmark on Wednesday.
Is it coming HOME? Time will tell.
