18 months ago Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti was appointed the manager of Merseyside based team Everton. Well, I don’t think he is a top coach anymore as he relatively didn’t improve the Everton side finishing 12th in the 2019/20 season. He can however be excused for this because he didn’t start the season with the team, but he finished 10th in the just-concluded season despite given funds to strengthen the side.
What annoyed me most was, because Everton had a good start to the 2020/21 season people were touting them to finish in the top 4. Nonsense. Anyway Ancelotti has now been, appointed the new Head Coach of Real Madrid and I don’t think this is the right move for the Los Blancos. Yeah, Carlo Ancelotti may have won a few trophies including the UEFA Champions League during his first stint (2013 – 2015) with the club but I still don’t think reappointing Ancelloti is a step in the right direction.
The Italian is a downgrade to Real Madrid’s former Head Coach; Zinedine Zidane. Yes Zidane might have been a protege to Ancelloti during the Italian’s first time in charge but Madrid needs a more vibrant option. Why was Mr? Carlo let go initially?
I also still don’t get the gist about recycling coaches these days.
CHEERS!!!
