There have been only a handful of footballers that I awe or marvel at their ability and Andres Iniesta Lujan is certainly one for this present generation if not the only one. I respect a lot of footballers but Iniesta in terms of what he does with the ball at his feet is miles apart.
“Only he knows how to do these things he does”, Jose Antonio Camacho (former coach of the Spanish National Team) once said about Iniesta in a football match he single-handedly decided in Spain’s favour. Iniesta who was a second half substitute took on the whole Chinese defense, to set up David Silva for the only goal of the game.
I have always been a big fan of Andres Iniesta and I will always be of the opinion that he’s the best Spanish player to ever play the game. Come on how many players do you know get a standing ovation from rival fans? There is no way the Spanish football history would be written without the mercurial midfielder not getting a mention.

A graduate of the famous Barcelona La Masia academy, Andres Iniesta won 8 La Liga titles (would be 9 come season end), 4 Champions League trophies, 6 Copa Del Rey titles, 3 FIFA World Club trophies all with Barcelona and he also won the 2010 World Cup for Spain. Yes I will emphasize on he won the World Cup for Spain because he scored the winning goal and it was from that moment his greatness was sealed amongst the best to ever play the game. His performance at the 2012 European tourney also ensured Spain won the trophy and was named player of the tournament.

Though Lionel Messi was named Balon D’or winner in 2010 I will always scream Iniesta won it for those that can’t hear me at the back.
The 33 year old Iniesta who boasts of 31 trophies barring how the La Liga ends this season (though Barcelona are champions elect) would certainly be on the plane to Russia with Spain at the 2018 World Cup if injury free in what could be his last major tournament appearance for his country. He has been with Barcelona since the age of 13.

Even at 33 I would love to have Iniesta play for my beloved Manchester United for at least 2 years (a tall order). Rumour has it that he would be moving to China or any league outside Europe because he does not want to play against Barcelona.
All the best El Cerebro in your future endeavours.
Thanks for your time guys, do have a lovely week ahead.
