10 Man United USURP Burnley at Turf Moor

I always dread teams like Burnley, as a matter of fact I try not to watch games like this but I have promised myself that I would watch all Manchester United league games this season. Yeah I might not be hopeful of a wonderful season with my beloved Manchester United but I won’t stop supporting them. Burnley’s dream of playing in the Europa league this season was ended over by Olympiakos on Thursday and I expected them to come all out against the Red Devils today but I was so sure United was not going to lose the game. Why would they lose 3 straight league games? Hian.

I threw out the sentiments of having James Tarkowski in my Fantasy Team with the hope of Man Utd getting a couple of goals in this game. Romelu Lukaku however did not let me down after he rose high to head home a cross from Alexis Sanchez to give Jose Mourinho’s lads a 1 nil lead in the 27th minute. Though it was all gung-ho from the United lads at the blast of the whistle, they didn’t relent on their efforts creating chance after chance putting significant pressure on the Clarets who had Joe Hart in goal to ensure they were not massacred. The Sean Dyche led lads could not withstand the pressure as they caved in to the barrage of attacks thrown at them by Manchester United as they conceded a second 1 minute before half time. Romelu Lukaku got his third goal of the season to make scores 2-0.

Half time had United cruising 2-0.

United picked up from where they stopped in the first half and should have made it 3-0 from the penalty spot after Aaron Lennon fouled Marcus Rashford in the Burnley box. Paul Pogba stepped up to take the spot kick but was denied by Hart. Burnley fullback Phil Bardsley was shown a yellow card for his foul on Rashford but Rashford was sent off for dissent reducing United to 10 men. Lukaku had a couple of other chances to bury the Clarets but he could not add to his tally.

United win 2-0 to remain 10th on the log after 4 games. Tottenham were beaten 2-1 by Watford at Vicarage Road. Watford’s win means they join Liverpool and Chelsea as the only teams to have won all their league games so far this season.

The European league takes a bow for the International break and returns 14th September, 2018 and Champions League begin on the 18th of September, 2018.

Next league game for my beloved Man Utd is the game against Tottenham’s conquerors Watford.

Thanks for your time guys, do have a fab week.
