2 wins on the bounce for Manchester United and I was so confident of a 3rd. The confidence grew by a mile when a couple of friends asked for my take on the game against Bournemouth. I just responded with United was going to win. It was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s (OGS) third game in charge for Man Utd and the final game of the year, the lads had to finish 2018 in style. Bournemouth was the perfect opposition to wrap up the year. In the reverse fixture United struggled but eventually won 2-1 thanks to a late Marcus Rashford winner.
United took the lead through, you guessed right Paul Pogba in the 5th minute. You needed to have seen the assist from Marcus Rashford, and the way he went past 2 Bournemouth defenders like they didn’t exist. In the 33rd minute the Frenchman bagged a second for the Red Devils.
In the 45th minute, Marcus Rashford grabbed a 3rd goal for Man Utd but Bournemouth pulled a goal back in the 2nd minute of extra time to end the half 3:1 and deny United a clean sheet in OGS’ 3rd straight game.
If you asked me, the United lads seem jaded in the second half and didn’t put in as much effort as they did in the first half. A friend was quick to point out that the coach has not gotten a formula in implementing games just yet. Substitute Romelu Lukaku scored a 4th goal for the Red Devils to wrap up the game.
Eric Bailly was sent off in the 79th minute for United but the damage had been done. 4:1 the game ended but special mention to Paul Pogba. Pogba put in a good shift and was rightly named man of the match.
Thanks for your time guys, lets do this again in 2019. Happy New Year to y’all. BLESS!!!
